Defence Research and Development Organization to promote innovation and accelerate R&D in startups and MSMEs of both the countries for the development of dual-use technologies, as a tangible testimony to the growing technical cooperation between India and Israel. (DRDO) and Directorate of Defence Research and Development (DDR&D), Ministry of Defence of Israel have signed a Bilateral Innovation Agreement (BIA). The MoU was signed between Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary, and Chairman, Dept. of DRDO, and Dr. Daniel Gould, Head of DDR&D, Israel, BG (Retd).


The Indian Defense Ministry said that this is a concrete display of the growing India-Israel technical cooperation.


Under the agreement, start-ups and industries from both countries will work together to bring in next-generation technologies and products in areas such as drones, robotics, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, photonics, biosensing, brain-machine interface, energy storage, and energy storage. wearable IoT devices, NLP, and others, it said in the statement.


The goods and technologies will be customized to suffice the novel requirements of both countries. The development efforts will be jointly funded by DRDO and DDR&D.


The formation of a task force was announced during the 15th Joint Working Group meeting in Tel Aviv last month to enhance bilateral defense cooperation between the two countries.


Under this agreement, start-ups and industries from both countries will work together to bring next-generation technologies and products across multiple sectors. These areas involve drones, robotics, AI, quantum technology, photonics, biosensing, brain-machine interfaces, energy storage, wearable IoT devices, and NLP. The goods and technologies will be customized to meet the novel needs of both countries. These development efforts will be jointly funded by DRDO and Israel's DDR&D. At the same time, the technologies produced under BIA will be prepared for both countries for their domestic applications.
