UP Police will now be provided with the new state-of-the-art ordinance, which will make it easier to deal with terrorists and criminals. The state-of-the-art Joint Venture Protective Carbine (JVPC) firing 800 bullets per minute will now be the pride of the UP Police. With this, the enemy can be easily killed by finding it at a distance of 200m. They will not be able to survive even in the dark of night. Equipped with 5.56mm state-of-the-art JVPC night vision cameras. It has been manufactured at the Small Arms Factory in Kanpur.
On Monday, in the first phase, a consignment of 105 carbines has arrived from the factory in the Ordnance Store located in Sitapur of the UP Police. On the instructions of the Police Headquarters, from here it will be sent to the Police Department of various districts.
ASP Azizul Haque, in charge of Ordnance Store of UP Police, Sitapur, said that on Sunday, a team of many arms sealers was sent to the Small Arms Factory in Kanpur. The team also conducted its technical test. The firing test is also done. It met all the standards, after which its first consignment was sent to Sitapur.
It will be sent to other districts as soon as instructions are received from the Police Headquarters. It was designed at DRDO's Ordnance Research and Development Establishment Pune, then Ordnance Factory Board JVPC (Sub Machine Gun) was formed at Small Arms Factory, Kanpur.
It is completely indigenous. The carbine is codenamed Mark Alpha JVPC. Its special feature is that this carbine neither gets stuck nor stops while firing. This will prove to be an important step towards the modernization of police. Its earlier model was considered quite suitable by the Para Military Force. CRPF, CISF, BSF, and ITBP are now equipping their Jawans with the new JVPC here. Naxal-affected Chhattisgarh Police had also used this machine gun.
