Meanwhile, today is the 27th day of the operation against the ongoing terrorists in Surankote, Mendhar in Poonch district, and Thannamandi in Rajouri district. Nine soldiers, including two Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), were martyred in two separate encounters with terrorists during a search operation in the Surankot forest on October 11 and in the Mendhar forest on October 14. The army has not officially announced the end of this operation.
